TROY, Mich. – A woman was caught stealing mail, checks, and credit cards several times Troy local residents filed complaints about the theft, police said.

Troy police patrolled the area of ​​Crooks and Big Beaver streets Monday (Jan. 16) after several people in the neighborhood reported their mail stolen, according to authorities.

A police officer spotted 25-year-old Khaira Linnette Nicole Howard Detroitopened a mailbox and tried to remove the contents, officials said.

Howard was recognized, and the police searched his car. Inside were pieces of mail, personal checks, and credit cards in other people’s names, according to police.

Howard was arrested and charged with multiple counts of receiving and concealing stolen property, possession of stolen property, and license violation.

On Thursday he was charged in District Court 52-4.
