The author and lawyer talk about spousal abuse

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Have you seen that 1944 movie “Gaslight”?

In the film, actor Charles Boyer tries to convince his wife, played by Ingrid Bergman, to believe that she has descended into madness. For her performance, Bergman won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Actress.

“Gaslighting” is a real form of mind manipulation. It’s about shaking off doubt and confusion, and some couples are still trying to do it when their marriage starts to spin.

Trial attorney Joryn Jenkins knows how to manipulate spouses. His book is “War or Peace: Avoiding the Damage of Divorce.” Jenkins visited “All Indiana” on Thursday to talk about dealing with a cheating spouse.
