NEW YORK – Less than six months ago, mpox was a public health emergency. What used to be an unknown disease from Africa is spreading into the European and US gay community. Important doses of an unproven vaccine were lacking.
International health officials announced. In Hudson County, where the first case was found in New Jersey, health officials in Jersey City and Hoboken announced vaccinations.
The Hyacinth Foundation has partnered with Jersey City’s vaccine clinics. “I think the partnership has worked really well,” said Kathy O’Brian, Hyacinth’s executive director.
