Lamont has introduced tax credits, which may lower costs for some families

Gov. recommended. Ned Lamont a Big Earned Income Tax Credit on Monday that could lower taxes for some families.

More than 200,000 low-income families will be eligible under this proposal.

“I think this is probably the most important, effective way that we can get a few thousand dollars, depending on the number of children, your income – to better support life,” said Lamont.

The average family saves about $211 a year, according to the state tax commissioner.

Lamont plans to offer several more tax cuts in his budget next week.
