DFS plans to insure Hurricane Ian communities in Southwest Florida

The Department of Financial Services is hosting three Insurance Villages January 23 through January 28 in Punta Gorda, Englewood and Fort Myers.

The communities will be an opportunity for policyholders to meet with their insurers and work together to resolve outstanding claims. finished.

Representatives from the National Flood Insurance Program and more than a dozen insurers are expected to be on hand to assist insurance buyers.

Policyholders should bring as much information as they can, including:

  • A driver’s license or other identification such as a passport or State-issued ID.
  • Insurance documents and insurance information or documents
  • Photos or records of the property reported as a loss due to Hurricane Jan
  • Recalculation
  • And any additional information related to insurance is easy to find.

Due to limited availability, insurance communities will only focus on insurance issues and will not involve staff from other agencies to assist with other benefits if half over.
