DFS installs Hurricane Insurance Communities in Southwest Florida

Today, the Department of Financial Services (DFS) announced that a follow-up to last year’s initial payment centers in Southwest Florida due to Hurricane Jan, the Consumer Services Division of the will host 3 Insurance Villages during the week of January 23rd through January 28th. .

These communities will be an opportunity for policyholders to meet with their insurers and work together to resolve outstanding claims. finished.

Representatives from the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and more than a dozen insurance agents are expected to be on hand to assist insurance buyers.

Policyholders should bring as much information as they can, including:

  • A driver’s license or other form of identification (passport/state issued ID)
  • Insurance documents and insurance information/documents
  • Photos or records of the property reported as a loss due to Hurricane Jan
  • Recalculation
  • Any additional information related to insurance is readily available.
